REAL Services 50th Anniversary

REAL Services will celebrate its 50^th birthday in 2016.  This milestone represents 50 years of providing services designed to help older adults and low income families live as independently as possible.  REAL Services was founded on the principles of service to the community and strong financial stewardship.    This anniversary is a tribute to the dedication and leadership of former and current employees, Board members, Advisory Council members, thousands of volunteers, regional partners and funders. 

We fully understand that we could not serve those who we are privileged to serve without the backing of so many throughout the years.   We are truly humbled and grateful to those who champion our mission by sharing their time, expertise, and financial support.  

With that support, REAL Services has helped hundreds of thousands of people in need over the last 50 years.  In the year 2014 over 35,000 individual and families were assisted.  Aiding this effort were 2,000 community partnerships with businesses/ organizations, 1200 volunteers, 1628 donors, and 24 regional grants.  In total, REAL Services received over 2 Million dollars in regional support for the elderly and low income in - one year!

As life expectancy increases and the number of older adults continue to grow,   REAL Services’ mission will be even more important over the next 50 years.  We would like to say a most sincere thank you to the kind and generous communities throughout northern Indiana who make our work possible.   You encourage and strengthen our success and improve the lives of elderly, disabled and low income Hoosiers.
